When people gather around a fireplace, the flame is not only a source of warmth, but also an expression of emotion and atmosphere. It connects people with the room and creates a feeling of calm, security and timelessness. At ELEMENTI, the development of a gas fireplace is not just about design and comfort, but also about precise technology, well thought-out materials and absolute safety. Every flame is designed, controlled and perfected – for an experience that is reliable, efficient and beautiful at the same time.
1 The essence of fire: balancing energy and aesthetics
A flame is the result of a precise interplay of air, gas and temperature. ELEMENTI develops burner systems in which the mixing ratio between gas and oxygen is precisely coordinated. Finely calibrated nozzles and air ducts produce an even, calm flame – without smoke, without flying sparks and without residues. This controlled combustion not only generates a high heat output, but also a visual calm that invites you to relax.
2 Clean combustion – clean flame, clean air
The ELEMENTI combustion system uses a double air supply: an outer air duct stabilizes the air flow, while the inner gas flow is precisely metered. Both flows meet in the combustion chamber, where they are optimally swirled. The result is clean, virtually residue-free combustion with an efficiency of up to 99 %. No soot formation, no smoke – just the pure heat of the fire. This purity creates an atmosphere that is both technically advanced and emotionally soothing.
3 Wind resistance – stability in any weather
In outdoor areas, wind is often the biggest enemy of a stable flame. ELEMENTI has developed an ingenious wind protection system for this purpose. There is an invisible air deflector around the burner and ignition module, which keeps the flame stable even in wind speeds of up to 6 m/s. In addition, a special pressure compensation system ensures an even gas supply. As a result, the fire remains calm and balanced – even on terraces, balconies or in windy coastal regions.
4 Double ignition – immediate response at the touch of a button
Ignition is the moment when technology and emotion come together. ELEMENTI uses a double-electrode system that generates two sparks simultaneously. This creates a larger ignition zone, which ensures immediate and reliable flame formation. Even in damp or cold conditions, ignition is fast, precise and reliable. After a successful start, the system automatically regulates the power supply to minimize wear on the electrodes and extend their service life.
5 Security architecture – intelligent control in every detail
Safety is not an add-on, but the foundation of every ELEMENTI fireplace. Each model integrates several monitoring systems that are permanently active and react independently.
- Flame monitoring: A thermocouple continuously measures the temperature. If the flame goes out, the gas supply is interrupted in fractions of a second by a solenoid valve.
- Gas pressure control: An automatic regulator keeps the gas pressure constant and prevents uncontrolled fluctuations.
- Tilt protection: On mobile or high models, a tilt sensor stops the gas supply as soon as a dangerous tilt is detected.
These systems work invisibly in the background, precisely and quietly – so that the flame always remains in perfect balance.
6 Material and production – the art of the GFRC
The outer shell of every ELEMENTI fireplace is made of GFRC (glass fiber reinforced Beton). This composite material combines the robustness of Beton with the flexibility of modern fiber technology. GFRC is up to 40 % lighter than conventional Beton and at the same time significantly more resilient and resistant to cracking, frost and heat. Each surface is smoothed, pigmented and sealed by hand – creating an authentic, natural feel with high durability.
7 Tested quality – precision that creates trust
Before packaging, every ELEMENTI gas fire undergoes a complete test program: ignition test, leak test, wind stability test and long-term burning time test. Only appliances that pass all test series are approved. All models comply with European CE, North American CSA and British UKCA standards. This quality chain guarantees that every product offers the same safety and performance – regardless of the weather, region or duration of use.
8 Efficiency and operation – heat that makes sense
An ELEMENTI fireplace is designed to make optimum use of energy. Controlled flame height, wind protection and suitable burner geometry allow gas consumption to be regulated efficiently. In combination with high-quality gas pressure regulators, the burning time per cylinder is significantly extended – without sacrificing heat or flame pattern. This creates a balance between convenience, sustainability and economy.
9 Care and durability – permanently beautiful, permanently safe
Cleaning requires no effort: a soft cloth and mild soap are enough to remove dust or light residues. Thanks to sealing, GFRC is resistant to stains and weathering. A protective cover or a dry interior is recommended for winter storage. The burners should be checked regularly and serviced by qualified personnel if necessary – this will keep the fireplace in perfect condition for years to come.
10 Design and experience – fire as part of the architecture
ELEMENTI sees fire not as an accessory, but as a central design element. The interplay of form, material and light creates a balance between function and emotion. Clear lines, soft radii and natural surfaces turn the fireplaces into sculptures of light. They blend into any environment – whether a modern patio, rustic stone wall or urban balcony – and transform it into a place of tranquillity.
11 Sustainability – responsibility for energy and the environment
Compared to wood fires, gas fires emit up to 90% less particulate matter and almost no CO₂ from incomplete combustion. The use of GFRC reduces the overall weight and therefore also transportation emissions. The surface coating is based on water-soluble, low-emission systems. ELEMENTI thus combines modern design with ecological awareness – for a future in which comfort and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
12 Conclusion – fire in its pure, modern form
Fire is one of the oldest elements of mankind – and one of the most fascinating. ELEMENTI combines engineering skills, material expertise and design aesthetics to reinterpret this element in its most beautiful form. An ELEMENTI gas fireplace is no ordinary piece of furniture, but a symbol of warmth, safety and durability. It brings back the original feeling of fire – controlled, elegant and ready to fill your home with light and life.
13 Frequently asked questions
Can a gas fireplace be operated safely on a wooden or WPC terrace?
Yes, if a non-flammable surface or a heat protection plate is used. Sufficient ventilation, safety distances to the sides and a tested gas pressure regulator are important. In this way, the heat development remains controllable and the patio material is protected.
Does a gas fireplace need external ventilation or air supply?
No, the air is supplied via the integrated burner system. However, it is important that the fireplace is not completely enclosed. Only then can the ignition safety device, gas control and thermocouple work reliably and ensure safe combustion.
What happens if the flame goes out due to wind?
The fireplace recognizes this immediately via a thermocouple. The solenoid valve closes automatically within a few seconds and interrupts the gas supply. A restart is only possible after the system has cooled down completely – this protects against uncontrolled gas leaks.
Which gas cylinder can I connect and how long will it last?
All ELEMENTI gas fireplaces work with the 5 kg, 8-10 kg or 11 kg propane cylinders commonly used in Europe. For patio fireplaces, we generally recommend an 11 kg cylinder, as it offers the best ratio of running time and handling.
For typical gas fireplaces with around 40,000-50,000 BTU , an 11 kg propane gas cylinder is sufficient for around 18-25 hours of continuous operation on average. Depending on the flame height and usage, a 5 kg cylinder will last around 8-12 hours. If the flame is set lower or only used occasionally, the running time is extended accordingly.
The actual service life always depends on the output (BTU), wind, outside temperature and your usage behavior. You can find detailed sample calculations and tables in our guide “How long does a propane cylinder last?” .
Do I have to have the fireplace serviced every year?
Annual maintenance is recommended. This includes: Clean the burner, check for leaks, check the ignition electrodes and remove small deposits if necessary. Regular maintenance ensures stable combustion, optimum heat output and a long service life.
Does the GFRC outer shell crack over time?
No, GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) is considerably more resistant to cracking than conventional Beton. The glass fiber reinforcement ensures that the material remains stable even with temperature changes, moisture and UV exposure. Small hairline cracks can occur, but are usually purely optical in nature and have no effect on the structural strength.
As with all open-pored mineral surfaces, slight color changes, patina or microstructures may occur outdoors – this is a normal process typical of the material and not a quality defect.
To protect the surface in the long term, we recommend regular care and sealing. You can find all the information you need in our GFRC care guide , including tips on suitable cleaners, sealing intervals and protective measures for fall and winter.
Can I leave the fireplace outside when it rains?
Yes, the models are designed to be weatherproof. Burners and technology are protected so that rain does not cause any damage. However, in heavy continuous rain, snow or during the winter break, we recommend a protective cover to preserve the material and finish in the long term.
Is the fireplace suitable for a balcony with limited space?
Yes, provided the balcony is open or well ventilated and the safety distances to the top and side walls are observed. Propane must not be used in enclosed spaces.
Compact or round models are suitable for small balconies. Recommended distances and suitable sizes can be found in our size guide and the information on safe use on patios.
Can I use a glass draft shield – and does it improve the flame?
Yes, a glass windbreak stabilizes the flame pattern, protects against gusts of wind and even reduces gas consumption because the flame burns constantly and cools down less. A windbreak is a very useful addition for open terraces.
Which safety functions switch off the fireplace?
The fireplace stops automatically if the flame goes out, if it tips over, if there are pressure fluctuations or if the gas flow is interrupted. All processes are fully automatic and ensure that no manual intervention is necessary.
